Rex Ryan confident of landing New York Jets head coach job and sends clear message to Aaron Rodgers over his treatment
PRIOR Rex Ryan, the head coach of the New York Jets, is sure he can regain his position with the team.
The coach believes he can return the Jets to winning ways after leading them to consecutive AFC Championships in 2009 and 2010.
Ryan discussed how he could improve the Jets during his Monday interview on the DiPietro & Rothenberg Show.
Closing the “country club” and reining in individuals like Aaron Rodgers were two of those things.
“Clearly, when you have a guy that doesn’t show up for mandatory minicamp and, by the way, he’s your quarterback, coming off an injury I think that’s an absolutely ridiculous message you send to the team,” Ryan stated.
Things would be different if he returned. Show up whenever the hell you want to; if he returns, it won’t be the country club.

“That is not going to occur. I’m going to stop there.
Although Rodgers is still uncertain of his future, it is anticipated that he will not rejoin the Jets for the 2025 campaign.
Ryan thinks he is the best man to lead the team, regardless of who is playing quarterback in New York.
“I believe I’ll win since I’m the most qualified candidate. “It’s not close,” Ryan stated, according to ESPN.
It is imperative that you establish a connection with both your football squad and your fan base.
“The most crucial factor is the manner they play.
“It goes beyond the Xs and Os and everything else. I adore Ben Johnson, the offensive coordinator for the Lions, but I’m a stronger applicant for this position than he is.”
Even though Ryan is sure he can get a job with the Jets, it appears that the team’s supporters don’t want him there.
One fan remarked, “He would be a terrible choice for Jets,”
Another fan remarked, “The Jets with Rex are a nice six win team.”
A third fan commented, “He ain’t getting the job,”
A fourth fan exclaimed, “This is actually insane and destined for more failure!”
A fifth fan commented, “The Jets would be foolish to hire Rex Ryan again.”
There are other candidates vying for Ryan’s spot as head coach of the Jets.
