Royal Oak business owner proposes renaming road after Lions Coach Dan Campbell

(FOX 2) Royal Oak, Mich.A local business owner wants to rename a road in honor of head coach Dan Campbell as the Detroit Lions celebrate their historic victory over the Vikings.

Kris Powell, the owner of the company, works in Royal Oak and wants to change Campbell Road to Dan Campbell Road in the city.

They thrashed the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. I told him that we had to do this,” he stated.

Michael Fournier, the mayor of Royal Oak, even took notice of the concept.

Powell says he wants the road name changed even if the Lions lose in the playoffs.

“Look what Campbell’s done for this franchise,” Goff added.

Although the city has already received the formal application, changing the signs would cost roughly $10,000.

“I m gonna try to raise that money from other businesses here in Royal Oak,” stated Powell.

Will Coach Campbell require some encouragement to embrace the concept? We’ll see.

Before playing either the LA Rams or the Vikings for the third time in the NFC Divisional Round, the Lions are currently on a bye week.

This follows Sunday’s victory over the 14-3 Vikings for the NFC #1 Seed.
