Russia is ‘popping bottles’ over Trump’s plans for Ukraine as other nations now ‘at risk of invasion,’ John Bolton warns
According to former national security adviser John Bolton, Vladimir Putin and his Kremlin henchmen would be ecstatic about Donald Trump’s proposal to resolve the war in Ukraine.
The 78-year-old president-elect has promised to end the nearly three-year meat grinder dispute in a day, although it is unclear how he would accomplish this.
Joe Biden authorized Ukraine to employ US long-range ATACMS missiles for operations inside Russia several months before Trump forces returned to the White House.
Inside Moscow, the decision sparked outrage, with the Kremlin accusing Biden of adding gasoline to the fire.
Russia claims that one of the American missiles in the blitz hit its territory. It has raised concerns that the world is headed toward a world war.

Bolton, who worked for Trump from 2018 to 2019, rejected the notion that the next president could end the conflict overnight.
The ambassador went on to say that Trump will not accept accountability for any failure.

Bolton thinks that because of Zelensky’s seeming preference for authoritarian governments, Trump will blame the tycoon if negotiations fail.
Bolton referenced comments made by JD Vance, although Trump has not yet provided specifics regarding his Ukraine strategy.

He cautioned about the dangers if a deal similar to what Vance proposed materialized.
Vance promoted the notion that Russia would keep the territory it had taken and that a demilitarized zone would be established during an episode of The Shawn Ryan Show.
Nonetheless, Ukraine’s border would be guarded to stop Putin soldiers from invading again.
Vance added that Russia would receive assurances that Kyiv would not join NATO, but Ukraine would continue to maintain its independence.
Bolton dismissed this settlement proposal.
“They are popping the vodka in Moscow if that’s their idea of a compromise because that sounds pretty much what their objectives are at the moment,” he said.
Bolton, who was the US Ambassador to the UN from 2005 to 2006, says he thinks Putin intends to recreate the former Russian Empire, but he cautions that the tyrant still has a long way to go.
Putin would not target NATO allies in the Baltic region, according to the Republican.
However, he worries that Moldova, Azerbaijan, and Georgia might be “at risk” of an invasion.
Who is John Bolton?
John Bolton, a former national security adviser, has had a disastrous career, holding various positions under four Republican administrations.
Bolton attended Yale Law School and earned his law degree in 1974. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland.
From August 1982 to 1983, Bolton worked as an Assistant Administrator for Program and Policy Coordination at the US Agency for International Development under President Ronald Reagan.
From December 1985 to 1986, he also worked in the Office of Legislative Affairs at the Department of Justice.
Bolton was appointed Assistant Secretary of State for International Organization Affairs by George H.W. Bush. He held this position from May 1989 to January 1993.
Bolton was George W. Bush’s Under Secretary of State for International Security and Arms Control.
In August 2005, he was appointed Ambassador of the United States to the United Nations. Bolton held his position through December 2006.
In 2012, Bolton advised Mitt Romney, the Republican candidate for president, on international policy.
In April 2018, Bolton was named national security adviser, a position he held until September 2019.
Trump said on X in September 2019 that Bolton’s services were no longer needed. He said he requested Bolton’s resignation.
Bolton responded to the former president by telling his supporters on Xhe that he had volunteered to step down from his position.
According to him, Trump said, “Let’s talk about it tomorrow.”
The Room Where It Happened: A White House Memoir, written by Bolton, who is himself an author, details his tenure as Trump’s national security adviser.
Bolton also doesn’t believe that limiting Putin’s aims in Ukraine will discourage him.
“I do think he’ll turn somewhere else if he’s temporarily blocked in Ukraine,” he said.
Bolton emphasized that obtaining relief from Western sanctions was Russia’s top priority following the end of the war.
Although the war has come to a standstill since February 2022, Zelensky believes that Trump will bring it to a quicker conclusion.
