Russian forces capturing territory the size of two football pitches every minute in Ukraine

In Ukraine, Russia is annexing land the size of two football fields per minute.

Since the invasion started in 2022, Vladimir Putin’s soldiers have advanced at their quickest rate.

However, at the current pace, capturing the remaining Donetsk province—which is considered Moscow’s minimum goal—would still take more than a year.

Despite the United States allowing Kyiv to strike Russia with long-range missiles, the US-based Institute for the Study of War reported that Kremlintroops captured almost 8.5 square kilometers every day this month.

Around Khurakove in the southern Donbas and Kupiansk in the northeastern Kharkiv province, Russian forces have surged forward.

However, the ISW stated that the assaults are avoiding Ukrainian strong spots, such as well fortified cities, which they are unable to capture as quickly.

The 600-mile frontline was the most unstable since February 2022, according to UK Defense Secretary John Healey.

However, Russia is not even close to reaching its maximum advance rate of 490 square miles per day, or 125 pitches per minute, during the initial weeks of the conflict.

Additionally, despite recent war victories, the ruble has fallen to its lowest level since March 2022.

Ukraine has persisted in using US-made ATACMS missiles to strike targets in Russia.

According to Russia, the missiles struck a Kursk air unit and the neighboring Su-30 fighter jet airport, Kursk-Vostochny.
