Sean Dyche SACKED by Everton just hours before FA Cup game as two club icons take charge and David Moyes in line for job
Following Sean Dyche’s dismissal, David Moyes is set to make a spectacular comeback to Everton.
The new proprietors of the Toffees Three hours prior to Friday night’s 2-0 FA Cup third-round victory against Peterborough, Dyche was fired by the Friedkin Group after nearly two years as manager.
According to SunSport, Moyes has had discussions with the team he played for for 11 seasons before departing to become manager of Manchester United in 2013.
Dyche, 53, was fired by billionaire majority owner Dan Friedkin yesterday afternoon following what is thought to have been an irate altercation with the club’s leadership.
Additionally, Everton declared that Sean Dyche has been relieved of his managerial responsibilities effective immediately. Billy Mercer, Mark Howard, Steve Stone, and Ian Woan have also left the team. The appointment of a new manager is currently underway.
After demanding money to strengthen a team that is just one point above the drop zone during this month’s transfer window, Dyche was abruptly fired.
His contract, which was supposed to expire at the conclusion of the season, has been ripped up, so he will have to fight for compensation.
Seamus Coleman, the club captain, and Leighton Baines, the Under-18s’ head coach, led the team in last night’s FA Cup match.
However, Toffees officials want a new manager in place before to Wednesday’s Premier League matchup with Aston Villa.
Jose Mourinho, the former manager of Chelsea, Manchester United, and Tottenham, started the day as the bookmakers’ favorite.

However, TFG has no desire to pursue the present Fenerbahce manager.
Prior to his confirmation as West Ham’s new manager yesterday, TFG had expressed interest in Graham Potter. They also have Middlesbrough’s Michael Carrick, England Under-21 coach Lee Carsley, and former Toffees midfielder Lee Carsley on their shortlist.
However, Moyes, who during his stint termed Everton the “people’s club,” is expected to be selected and prepared to return.
Since leaving the Hammers in May, he has not had a job.
But until last month did the 61-year-old Scot insist: I don’t want to be at the bottom of the league and always scrap.
We were vying for spots in Europe for the majority of my tenure at Everton. Three of West Ham’s last four years have been spent in Europe.
Instead of only avoiding relegation, I can perform a job at a certain level. I’ll wait until the ideal moment.
Everton has only managed 17 points from 19 Premier League games so far this season, and they have only scored one goal in their previous five games.

Speaking on Tuesday, Dyche stated that he had no issue with the succession planning of the Toffees chiefs, despite the fact that he was aware that his career was at stake.
“That should be ongoing at every football club,” he remarked. Of course, that’s part of the business.
Dyche’s ups and downs at Everton
After Frank Lampard’s catastrophic reign, SEAN DYCHE was appointed in January 2023.
With a victory over Arsenal in his first game as manager, the former Burnley manager’s start couldn’t have been better.
The Toffees’ fight to avoid relegation that first season came right down to the last day, when Dyche orchestrated a 1-0 victory over Bournemouth to keep them in the top flight.
After a strong start to the 2023–24 season, Everton was docked 10 points, which was eventually lowered to six.
Even though the penalty hindered him, Dyche led Everton to 15th place.
A 2-0 victory against local rivals Liverpool, their first Merseyside derby victory at Goodison in 14 years, was the season’s high point.
The Toffees, however, have fallen into a rut once more this season despite showing indications of improvement last season. Dyche left the team with only one point separating them from the relegation zone.
The club’s lengthy takeover must have been a distraction, but only a few weeks after The Friedkin Group eventually closed a transaction in December, they made the decision to switch managers.
