Sheriff Confirms Arrest of Person of Interest in Homestead Woman’s Murder
Seminole County, Florida – Dennis Lemma, the sheriff of Seminole County, gave a status report on the investigation into the death of a 31-year-old Homestead woman in his county on Friday afternoon.
Before her death, Katherine Altagracia Guerrero De Aguasvivas was abducted and carjacked.
Lemma declared that Jordanish Torres-Garcia, 28, a person of interest in the case, had been taken into custody on an active Orange County warrant. Authorities established a connection between him and the green Acura that was used in the incident.

He is the last person the Homestead woman spoke to on the phone before her kidnapping and death, according to the sheriff’s office and people close to the case.
According to deputies, he is also wanted on other narcotics charges.

After allegedly breaking into law enforcement databases to give the victim’s husband case details, a sheriff’s officer in nearby Orange County has already been taken into custody.
The murder of a tow truck driver the day before is also believed to be connected to this killing.
