Shocking moment man jumps out of moving roller coaster after ‘safety device malfunctioned’ seconds before huge drop

A man who leaped out of a potentially fatal rollercoaster with only seconds to spare may have been rescued by his quick thinking.

Just seconds before riders were flipped on a massive drop, a visitor to an amusement park sprang out of his seat on a moving ride, as seen on shocking video.

In the middle of his ride on Desert Storm at Castles N Coasters in Phoenix, Arizona, on Sunday, the man—who wished to remain anonymous—rose and proceeded to the emergency staircase.

The guest said that when his safety strap fell loose, he fled the ride out of fear for his life.

He said, “We started going up, everything seems to be OK,” to KSAZ-TV, a Fox affiliate.

“And then when we get closer to the top, I hear a click.”

The click, according to him, was “different from the click of the roller coaster going up on the chain.”

According to the man, pushing his lap bar made it open with ease.

Then he did something about it.

“I didn’t want to die that day, and it was just adrenaline,” he said to CBS affiliate KPHO-TV.

I simply didn’t give it any thought and leaped out as soon as the lap bar went up.

After leaving his seat, he down the emergency stairs and encountered the ride operator.

“I told her my lap bar came up, and she yelled at me, I told you to check it,'” stated the man.

“And I just walked down the stairs and kind of broke down because the adrenaline was so much.”

He claimed that although he filed a complaint and that the manager provided him a refund, he still expressed his worries about future riders.

He remarked, “It might have been someone younger or older, not as nimble.

“Luckily, it was me and I was able to think fast on my feet and get out but it could have ended differently.”

Castles N’ Coasters has been contacted by the U.S. Sun to provide a statement.

People are flocking to the amusement park’s Facebook page to demand that the ride operator be fired, despite the fact that the park has not responded to the tragedy.

“It could have been a lawsuit when the operator don t check the harness and the rider could ve died so the operator should be fired,” a user commented.

“You need to fire that operator who failed to check the harness for Desert Storm yesterday November 24th,” an additional slammed.

“You guys are extremely fortunate that the rider was unharmed.

“The operator at your park should not have yelled at the visitor because she failed to perform her duties. “Do better!”

There are no statewide laws governing theme parks or amusement rides in Arizona.

According to state legislation, each county is responsible for ensuring that rides are inspected once a year.
