Siakam scores 37, Haliburton adds 30 points and 8 assists to lead Pacers past Pistons 133-119

The Indianapolis, Indiana, area (AP) Tyrese Haliburton had 30 points and eight assists, Pascal Siakam scored 37 points, and the Indiana Pacers defeated the Detroit Pistons 133-119 on Wednesday.

Together, Siakam and Haliburton made 25 of 38 shots, 8 of 16 of which were from three-point range.

Indiana made 16 of 20 shots in the first quarter, including 7 of 10 three-pointers, to score 40 points. The Pacers made 19 of 38 3-pointers and finished 46 of 81 overall (56.8%).

Indiana’s Myles Turner scored 24 points.

The Pistons were led by Cade Cunningham, who finished with 32 points and nine assists. Malik Beasley made six 3-pointers and finished with 20 points.

Pistons: Despite losing point guard Jaden Ivy to a fractured leg on January 1, Detroit’s victory brought them to 9-6 in January and guaranteed them their first winning month since March 2019. The Pistons cut a 20-point lead in the second quarter to single digits for the majority of the third quarter, despite the Pacers’ scorching shooting.
