Six people found dead in tourist hotspot as gunmen on motorcycles open fire on group having drinks in 24-hour spree

Six people have been killed in a horrific shooting in a popular tourist destination when gunmen opened fire in a string of horrifying occurrences.

Over the weekend, there were five attacks in various locations in Cancun, Mexico, including the fatal shooting of a group of people consuming alcohol outside a home.

A guy was shot at a barbershop during the first shooting, which happened on Saturday at around 2:00 pm.

Two minors were among the four persons slain later that night while drinking alcohol outside of a house.

According to reports, the murderers rode up on motorcycles and started shooting.

A third shooting in one of the city’s most violent districts was reported to police as they were still in shock after the first two attacks.

Five attacks occurred over the weekend in Cancun, a well-known beach resort that welcomed over 10 million foreign visitors last year, more than half of them were from the US.

Two people were arrested by police on Tuesday in connection with the most deadly shooting, which claimed four lives.

Police said that one of the accused is a juvenile teen and that they also found a 9 mm caliber handgun during the arrests.

State Attorney General: “The suspects were found to be in possession of various drug-like substances,” the statement read.

“This evidence, as well as the detainees, were placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office.”

Two of the victims were slain in a fight between rival drug dealers, according to the police, while the other two suffered “collateral damage.”
