Southeast Michigan school closings list: Hundreds of schools closed Tuesday, Wednesday due to bitter cold
There will be some snowfall in the late week and wind chills that plummet to over -20 by tomorrow morning.
DETROIT (FOX 2):Hundreds of schools are closed as the temperature stays below zero and the wind makes it considerably worse.
Due to the predicted blast of cold that won’t go away until later this week, many districts decided to postpone classes on Tuesday and Wednesday. The Tuesday closures began to roll in on Monday.
Highs Tuesday will struggle to reach 6 degrees, with wind chills starting below zero all day. That wind chill will drop to double-digit negatives as the day goes on.
Temperatures are predicted to drop even further overnight, with wind chills reaching -20 and lows of about -4.
While it won’t be as bad, the brutal cold will persist into Wednesday. High temperatures are predicted to reach 16 degrees by Wednesday afternoon, with a wind chill of about 4.
