Southeast Michigan school closings: Tuesday closures rolling in amid arctic blast

chilly morning with temps in the single digits and wind chills below zero! There won’t be many snow showers today, and there may be some minor accumulation. Wednesday morning is the coldest day of the week, and we remain extremely chilly throughout the middle of the week!

DETROIT (FOX 2):Some Metro Detroit schools have already announced that they would not reopen on Tuesday, despite the fact that many are closed on Monday in observance of Martin Luther King Jr.

Monroe County, Livingston County, Lapeer County, St. Clair County, Wayne County, Macomb County, Washtenaw County, and Oakland County are all under a Cold Weather Advisory through Wednesday at noon.

With wind chills staying below zero throughout the day, Monday’s high will barely reach ten degrees. It will be significantly colder on Tuesday and Wednesday. It is predicted that wind chills would range from -15 to -15. In some places, this figure may fall as low as -25.

Schools are likely to be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday, however there isn’t a hard-and-fast rule on school cancellations.
