In April 2023, at the age of 15, Gout made headlines by breaking the Australian U18 men’s 200-meter record with a timing of 20.87 seconds.

“I was fine and continued to push when the rifle went off. You feel as though you are floating and have no sense of ground touch.

“I was really motivated because I took last year personally, it always feels better when you are winning.”
At the Queensland Athletics Championships in August of this year, he demolished the rest of the competition with a time of 10.20.
Gout was born to South Sudanese parents in Queensland, Australia.
