Student in critical condition after being hit by vehicle near Fordson High School in Dearborn
After being struck by a car Friday morning close to Fordson High School in Dearborn, a 15-year-old student is in critical condition.

According to police, the ninth grader was hit at approximately 7:35 a.m. while crossing Ford Road, which is a 40 mph zone, close to Schaefer. Corporal Dan Bartok of the Dearborn Police Department says it’s unclear whether the collision occurred at the junction.
While the victim was being treated at a hospital, the driver, who was also a teenager, remained at the site.
The principal of the school asked people to remember the victim in a statement.
“All we can say at this moment is that the student has severe injuries and is in the hospital. With the family’s consent, we will share further information as we continue our conversation with them,” Chadi Farhat stated. “We ask that everyone please direct all your thoughts and prayers to the family during this very difficult time.”
Police are asking witnesses for information as they rebuild traffic crashes.
