Super Bowl 2025 prize money: How much will winning and losing players get?

The stakes for America’s showpiece have increased even more as Super Bowl LIX draws near.

On Sunday night, the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles will square off for the Vince Lombardi Trophy, football’s top honor.

Having faced each other at the Super Bowl stage two years prior, neither is unfamiliar with the Big Game.

As the reigning champs, the Chiefs are hoping to make NFL history by becoming the first team to win three consecutive Super Bowls.

Andy Reid’s team played brilliantly in another postseason, defeating the rival Buffalo Bills and the Houston Texans in the divisional round.

After defeating the Green Bay Packers and the Los Angeles Rams, the Eagles easily defeated the Washington Commanders, who were headed by Jayden Daniels, by a margin of 32 points.

So, how much is being offered?

How much money will the Super Bowl winners and losers get?

In 2020, the NFL and the NFL Players Association (NFLPA) reached their most current collective bargaining agreement (CBA).

In the event that the team wins the 2025 Super Bowl, each member will get $171,000.

The award represents an increase of $7,000 per player above the $164,000 total from the previous year.

Before Sunday’s match, neither club will want to think about losing, but the financial gain might lessen the impact.

In the event of a loss, the maximum payout for each player on the losing side will be $96,000.

However, no player will receive the same amount. The length of the contract and roster status will determine how much money is received.

To put things in perspective, the winners of this year’s Pro Bowl Games will each get $92,000.

Thanks to the CBA, the Super Bowl losers will now get more money than the Pro Bowl winners for the second time.
