Suspect in Pinecrest attempted MURDER moved to Miami-Dade jail

PINECREST, Florida — Tuesday saw the transfer of a suspect in an attempted murder case to Miami-Dade’s Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. According to the authorities, the suspect opened fire on another guy in a peaceful Pinecrest neighborhood last month.

According to the authorities, on Tuesday, Jeffrey Manuel Chamorro, 31, was captured by the Florida/Caribbean Regional Fugitive Task Force and the U.S. Marshals Service in the vicinity of the 800 block of Himmarshee Street in Fort Lauderdale.

At approximately 3 p.m. on April 17, according to the police, Chamorro fired at the victim in an “attempt to take his life” after luring him to a residential neighborhood in the 8200 block of Southwest 128th Street.

According to the authorities, Chamorro arranged a rendezvous at a neighboring Home Depot but later changed the site because he was upset about the victim’s interactions with his girlfriend.

According to the authorities, Chamorro shot at the victim’s car when he arrived and then crashed into it while trying to escape.

According to an arrest request, Chamorro traded his wrecked car to a tow truck driver and bought a grey Cadillac SUV in its place.

Investigators claim that during the tow truck owner’s interview with them, he produced video evidence that connected Chamorro to the crime.

Authorities added that on the day she received text messages from the victim, Chamorro’s girlfriend admitted to fighting with him and revealing his “violent tendencies” along with his jealousy.

Additionally, she revealed to investigators that Chamorro had drafted a letter admitting to the shooting.

Police say that although Chamorro fired several shots at the victim’s car, none of them struck the man he was trying to kill.

As of Wednesday afternoon, according to jail records, Chamorro is being held without bond.
