Talbot stops 28 shots as Red Wings beat Lightning 2-0

Detroit, MI-DETROIT (AP) — The Detroit Red Wings defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning 2-0 on Saturday night, as Cam Talbot recorded his second shutout of the season by stopping 28 shots.

Michael Rasmussen scored an empty-netter in the last minute to seal Detroit’s victory, and Marco Kasper deflected a shot from J.T. Compher at 9:55 of the second period.

The Lightning, who have lost three of four games since defeating the Red Wings 5-1 on January 18, were shut out for the first time this season despite Andrei Vasilevskiy’s 29 saves.

Patrick Kane, a forward for Detroit, missed his second straight game because of an upper body ailment.
