Kelce is vying for the coveted honor for the second time this year.

In 2020, he was nominated, but Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson defeated him.

A player from one of the 32 NFL clubs who excels both on and off the field receives the honor.

“The Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award presented by Nationwide recognizes an NFL player for his excellence on and off the field,” according to the NFL’s official website.

“In addition, all current players who have received this esteemed award are honored with a trophy silhouette patch on the front of their jerseys.”

Each nominee receives $55,000, and the winner receives $265,000 to donate to a charity of their choosing.

While on Good Morning America, Travis Kelce was questioned about his friendship with Taylor Swift.

The Kansas City Chiefstight, however, responded in a cagey manner.

“When you have good family and friends around you, it makes that aspect of life that much easier,” Kelce stated to GMA.

“I’ve always been a pretty sensible individual. When I play football, it might not look that way.

“But I just want to be a real person off the field. I make an effort not to go too far.

“Because you never know what opportunities are going to present themselves.”

In a statement, Kelce expressed his gratitude for the nomination.
