Terrifying moment massive explosion rocks busy street in tourist hotspot as pedestrians are caught in huge fireball
A terrifying video captures the moment a massive flame on a busy street sent people fleeing for their lives.
Just yards away from unwary onlookers, shocking CCTV footage reveals flames burning aggressively.
It is thought that a gas leak caused the massive explosion in Brooklyn, New York.
The explosion gets so big that the entire screen turns white from the intense glow before anyone can respond.
As individuals turn and flee the area, the fire can be seen raging several stories high.
A cloud of dense, black smoke is shown rising into the air as the fire eventually goes out.

On the evening of Wednesday, December 11, the explosion took place.
The New York City Fire Department has been contacted by The U.S. Sun for comment.
It comes after thousands of subway passengers were left trapped underground during the Wednesday evening rush hour in Downtown Brooklyn due to a power outage.
Just before 5:30 p.m., four different subway lines experienced disruptions due to a power outage between the Jay Street/MetroTech and Hoyt-Schermerhorn stations.
All of the lines—A, C, F, and G—had to be rerouted or lost power.
Two F trains carrying about 3,500 passengers had to be evacuated after losing power.
The U.S. Sun asked ConEdison to clarify that the explosion was connected to the subway interruption on Wednesday night, but ConEdison did not immediately comment.
While waiting to be rescued, stranded passengers had to urinate in between the automobiles.
Some of the impacted passengers were given cookies.
Some spent as much as two hours confined underneath.

According to 42-year-old passenger Anders Nelson, “people were peeing in between the cars,” The Gothamist said.
“Cookies were being distributed. It developed into a small communal issue.
Brooklyn City Councilmember Lincoln Restler said on social media the outage may be linked to a manhole explosion in the area.
“I was just on scene at State & Smith St, where manhole exploded earlier this evening,” he stated to X.
