Terry Bradshaw crashes Fox NFL Kickoff set to complain about tiny $2,500 Pittsburgh Steelers bonus 40 years ago

Terry Bradshaw, who was observing from behind the camera, crashed the Fox NFL Kickoff set.

Though he once lost out on a $2,500 bonus over playing time, the 76-year-old four-time Super Bowl champion is still among the NFL’s most successful quarterbacks.

With the Philadelphia Eagles star sitting out against the New York Giants despite needing just 101 yards to set the NFL rushing record, the Fox NFL crew was talking about the Saquon Barkley scenario.

With Erik Dickerson’s record of 2,105 running yards, set in 1984, in his sights, 27-year-old Barkley became just the ninth player in league history to reach the 2,000-yard milestone.

However, because head coach Nick Sirianni has chosen to rest the most of his starters and key players, the running back, who currently has 2,005 rushing yards, will not get an opportunity to break the record.

In anticipation of a demanding playoff run, the Eagles, who are guaranteed the No. 2 seed in the NFC, believe the additional rest will help the squad.

Bradshaw walked out from the back to speak as the Barkley matter was being handled.

“They didn’t give him the option!” yelled the former Pittsburgh Steeler.

Host Charissa Thompson joked without skipping a beat: “Terry, you’ve done a really good job of not saying anything this whole segment, get over here.”

“They didn’t give him the option,” Bradshaw continued.

“The offensive line must play if he does, I suppose, but everyone wants the week off.

“I would prefer an honest prize.

“I had the chance to throw for 2,300 yards one year and they sat me.”

Others chuckled at this remark, particularly in light of the fact that today’s top quarterbacks routinely throw more than 4,000 yards. Michael Vick joked, “2,300?”

“Yes, 2,300 Mike—that was back when football was a little more difficult than it is now,” Bradshaw retorted.

“I was tiffed. You want to know why—I received a bonus of $2,500!

“I was devastated!”

The original Tom Brady

Terry Bradshaw’s admission that he had used his identity left Tom Brady speechless.

Brady was made aware of a 1983 newspaper article about a guy named Thomas Brady undergoing surgery by host Curt Menefee.

In reality, that was Bradshaw during his playing days with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

During his 13-year tenure as Pittsburgh’s quarterback, Bradshaw won four Super Bowls.

When I checked in, they told me, ‘You’re not going to get checked in under your name because you’ll get hassled. What do you want to go under,'” the former Steelers quarterback clarified.

“I mentioned, ‘Put me under Thomas Brady.'”

“That’s how it happened.”

“Did you guys go all the way and win the Super Bowl that year?” said analyst Peter Schrager after some jokes were made about the amount of money, particularly in comparison to today’s game.

“We did,” Bradshaw said.

“That’s the key,” Schrager continued, “because a lot of eyes will be on them if they lose the Super Bowl.

“If they do it will be seen as a genius move.”

Barkley stated earlier this week that he was completely on board with whatever the coach decided, but it is unclear how he is feeling right now.
