The Voice winner Sundance Head shot in stomach & airlifted to hospital for emergency surgery as wife asks for ‘prayers’
A WINNER of The Voice has been shot in the stomach and rushed to hospital in an air ambulance.
Country singer Sundance Head is due to undergo emergency surgery on the gunshot wound as his heartbroken wife asked all of his loyal fans to prayer for his recovery.
Head’s agent, Trey Newman, said that the music star is currently in a “stable” condition.
The gunshot wound hit his navel area but managed to miss all of his vital organs, Newman told The New York Post.
He also confirmed that it “was not self-inflicted”.
Newman said: “We don’t know if it was an accident with his gun or if it was another hunter nearby.
“The bullet is lodged in some fatty tissue, and the only way it could have happened is if it travelled through something else.”
Head – whose real name is Jason – won season 11 of The Voice USA and shot to fame with the American public.
