This Is The Really Heartbreaking, Missing Girl and Mom’s Remains Located Following Deathbed Revelation”
DEBARYLIFE – The day the girl’s accused killer passed away in jail, state police reported that remains they thought to be those of a lady and her daughter, who had not been seen in almost 24 years, were discovered at a residence in southern West Virginia.
According to investigators during a news conference on Tuesday, the suspect admitted on his deathbed to shooting and killing Susan and Natasha “Alex” Carter, who had been missing for more than 20 years, due to financial difficulties.
Since August 8, 2000, there has been no sign of Susan Carter or her daughter. West Virginia State Police Capt. Robert Maddy stated in a statement that on Monday, agents of the FBI and the state police discovered what appeared to be their remains at the residence of suspect Larry Webb.
After being detained without bond at the Mount Olive Correctional Complex since his arrest earlier this month about the girl’s death, Webb, who was in his 80s, experienced a medical episode on Monday. Six hours before the remains were found, Webb was declared dead at a hospital, according to the statement.
Susan Carter, 41, was embroiled in a bitter custody dispute with Natasha’s father when they vanished, and she had threatened to cut off contact with his 10-year-old daughter, according to an FBI flier from that era. News sites stated that when Carter vanished, she and her kid looked to be residing in Webb’s home.

The FBI Pittsburgh office declared in December 2021 that it would be stepping up its search for answers in the long-running case. September 2023 saw an increase in the incentive from $10,000 to $20,000.
In 2022 and 2023, Webb’s residence was the subject of search warrant executions by the police, who claimed to have found more evidence throughout their investigation.
Webb informed media outlets during one of those hunts that he had no idea what had become of the girl or when he had last seen her.
Webb remarked, “I don’t remember.” “I suffer from dementia. I’m not sure exactly.
According to Raleigh County Prosecutor Ben Hatfield, Webb allegedly realized his finances were out of order, which led to a violent domestic situation, as WVNS-TV reported.
According to officials, he shot Susan Carter because he thought she had spent a lot of money and that money had gone missing, as CBS affiliate WOWK-TV reported. According to the authorities, Webb killed her daughter by shooting her “to avoid detection for having killed Susan Carter.”
Webb was detained at a medical institution after being charged with murder in connection with the girl’s abduction last October, as reported by WVVA-TV. Hatfield stated that on April 12, he was taken into custody following a medical clearance for jail.
