TJ Maxx confirms all 1,319 locations will close down for 24 hours as shoppers are warned to plan ahead for holidays

A SHOPPING blackout in a few weeks will shut down a long list of retailers, including TJ Maxx.

The discount department store chain will temporarily close all 1,319 locations during one of the holiday season’s busiest periods.

Thanksgiving is right around the corner, with just over two weeks until Turkey Day.

Families across the US will celebrate the national holiday on November 28 this year as will major corporations such as TJ Maxx.

To offer its associates time at home with loved ones, the retailer will shut its doors for 24 hours on Thanksgiving.

Shoppers can also expect TJ Maxx to be closed on Christmas and Easter.

TJ Maxx is the flagship store chain of The TJX Companies, which owns Marshalls and HomeGoods as well.

Marshalls and HomeGoods will also shut down on Thanksgiving.

All three retailers will open early on Black Friday.

DEAL DUD

Those looking to get ahead on Christmas shopping are in luck, as most TJ Maxx locations plan to open early on Black Friday.

Most stores will open at 7 AM, but it’s best to check with your local TJ Maxx for its Black Friday hours.

However, shoppers should not expect the retailer to be a discount destination on the day after Thanksgiving.

TJ Maxx offers apparel, homeware, and beauty at a discounted rate every day.

The retailer buys brand-name items from a variety of vendors, including big brands, boutiques, designer labels, and up-and-coming labels.

TJ Maxx focuses on buying overstock, closeouts, and out-of-season items, permitting the chain to offer prices around 20% to 60% lower than other retailers.

The store offers major discounts on huge brands such as Nike, Gucci, and Ralph Lauren.

Due to its year-round discounts, TJ Maxx typically does not offer exclusive Black Friday sales.

“Don’t come to any TJX stores on Black Friday. We have absolutely no deals for Black Friday,” warned an employee on Reddit.

“Unlike most stores, TJ Maxx doesn’t have Black Friday sales,” said a second associate. “When I worked there, I always told customers to check out the clearance sections throughout the store.”

In previous years, TJ Maxx shoppers were offered free shipping or a free gift with their purchase on Black Friday.

Similar to TJ Maxx, many popular retailers will be closed for Thanksgiving.

Home Depot confirmed all 2,015 locations will shut down for the retail blackout and Lowe’s won’t be much help.

BJ’s Wholesale Club also confirmed all 210 stores will close down for the entire day in just weeks.
