Tom Brady faces more broadcast restrictions after Patrick Mahomes interview with his Fox NFL job deemed ‘impossible’

More limitations are being placed on Tom Brady’s broadcasting duties with Fox.

At the beginning of this season, the 47-year-old seven-time Super Bowl champion took over as NFLon Fox’s chief analyst.

Along with Erin Andrews and Kevin Burkhardt, he is a member of their elite squad.

His relationship with Fox has become a little more tricky since he was confirmed as a part-owner of the Las Vegas Raiders last week.

He has a $375 million 10-year contract with the network.

However, Brady’s broadcasting abilities are restricted because of his dual duty with the Raiders.

The renowned former quarterback is prohibited from disparaging rival teams or authorities.

However, he is no longer able to bet or even participate in meetings for television production.

Brady’s dealings with active players are complicated by the NFL’s anti-tampering rules.

He recently had a sit-down interview with Patrick Mahomes, the star of the Kansas City Chiefs.

The NFL’s finance committee will investigate whether Brady’s interviews should be subject to further “scrutiny,” according to the Sports Business Journal.

He might only speak to players on-screen, making the content of their exchanges visible to the general public.

Any last-ditch aspirations of Brady coming out of retirement have also been dashed by his ownership share in the Raiders.

In February 2023, he made his retirement official after playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Brady’s chances of returning to the field were dashed when it was announced that those who own teams are not allowed to play.

‘FULL CIRCLE’

Brady is thrilled to have stepped into the NFL ownership world, despite the challenges posed by his broadcasting role.

“Football has been part of my entire life growing up in the Bay Area and, in so many ways, my football life and journey has come full circle,” he stated.

“In every organization I’ve been a part of, I enjoy the sport, my teammates, coaches, and the supporters.

“Nothing else can unite us like sports do.
