Travis Kelce drops major NFL retirement decision as Kansas City Chiefs legend prepares for Eagles game

As the 10-time Pro Bowl tight end prepares for the upcoming Super Bowl, Travis Kelce gave a hint about his retirement choice.

There have been rumors that Kelce would quit football after the 2024 NFL season.

On Sunday, February 9, Kelce and the Chiefs will play the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl 59 in New Orleans.

There has been conjecture that the 12-year NFL veteran may put up his boots once the season concludes because he had a poor season by his standards.

Speaking to reporters on Super Bowl Opening Night in New Orleans, Kelce seemed unconvinced about retiring following the game.

“I hope to be playing football. When asked where he aspired to be in three years, Kelce responded, “I love doing this, I love coming into work every day.”

“I think I have a lot of football talent left in me. We’ll wait and see.

“I am aware that I have been preparing myself for future prospects. With football’s short lifespan, it has always been the aim.

“You must figure out how to enter a different field of work. In my free time, I’ve been doing that.

“But for the most part, I plan on being a Kansas City Chief and playing football.”

One of Kelce’s favorite off-field endeavors has been a recurrent role in the horror series Grotesquerie on FX during the off-season.

In the follow-up to the Adam Sandler comedy Happy Gilmore, he will make a brief appearance.
