Travis Kelce drops subtle hint over his retirement plans after mixed season with Kansas City Chiefs
After a tough season with the Kansas City Chiefs, Travis Kelce gave away a hint regarding his future plans.
This weekend, the 35-year-old Kelce and the Chiefs will get ready to play the Houston Texans in the NFL playoffs’ Divisional Round.
Kelce made an appearance on ESPN’s popular show, The Pat McAfee Show, on Monday.
Pat McAfee, a former punter for the Indianapolis Colts, asked the 10-time Pro Bowl tight end how he was feeling after the team’s first-round playoff bye during his appearance.
In response, Kelce recited a line from the popular song “22,” which is sung by his girlfriend Taylor Swift.
“I’m fired up, I’m feeling 22 all over again baby,” stated Kelce.

“Let’s go!!”
To the joy of Kelce, who did a brief dance, McAfee recognized the connection and the cast of the show started singing the song’s chorus.
“I was hoping you caught the reference, baby,” he said.
After that, Kelce said he was “ready to rock and roll” as his Chiefs aim for the league’s first-ever three-peat event.
The veteran has been the subject of retirement rumors, but the three-time Super Bowl champion responded to McAfee.
Unlike previous years, Kelce didn’t exactly stand out on the stat sheet this season.
He recorded 97 receptions, three touchdowns, and career-low 823 yards.
Swift will be at Arrowhead on Saturday night to support him, Kelce confirmed during the ESPN show.
“Is there going to be a ‘aura’ in that place?” McAfee questioned Swift in reference to the game.
“A little extra, you know what we’re talking about?”
“Oh yeah, you know it, baby,” Kelce acknowledged. “Dude, it’s playoff football.”
‘Well-talked-about personal life’
While on Good Morning America, Travis Kelce was questioned about his friendship with Taylor Swift.
The Kansas City Chiefstight, however, responded in a cagey manner.
“When you have good family and friends around you, it makes that aspect of life that much easier,” Kelce stated to GMA.
“I’ve always been a pretty sensible individual. When I play football, it might not look that way.
“But I just want to be a real person off the field. I make an effort not to go too far.
“Because you never know what opportunities are going to present themselves.”
During the regular season, Swift only missed one Chiefs home game, and that was only because she was playing the last leg of her sold-out Eras Tour.

When the Chiefs defeated the Texans, who are the same opponent this week, she was at Arrowhead in Week 15.
Last season, Swift had the opportunity to cheer on Kelce during every playoff game, including the Chiefs’ victory against the San Francisco 49ers in overtime at the Super Bowl in February.
