Police are advising local drivers to use caution on Sunday as hundreds of motorbikes pass through the Tri-State region as part of Operation God Bless America XXIV.
At 10835 John Wayne Dr., the TravelCenters of America truck stop, the motorcycle ride, which draws hundreds, if not thousands of participants, is scheduled to begin at noon. It finishes in Berkeley County, West Virginia, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg.
When asked about previous attendance for the yearly event, coordinator A.J. Davenport remarked, “We’ve had as many as 2,500.”

As the motorcycle procession moves across the county, roads and intersections will be temporarily closed, the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office announced this week.
Sheriff Kenneth Lemaster Jr.’s office released a statement saying, “We appreciate everyone’s cooperation and will do our best to make this an enjoyable and smooth event.”
It is projected that the motorbikes will enter Berkeley County via Interstate 81 at approximately 1 p.m. Following its exit off I-81 at Tabler Station Road, the ride route heads eastward to U.S. 11, also known as Winchester Avenue, according to the sheriff’s office.
The ride will head north on U.S. 11 to the intersection of Apple Harvest Drive, then east to join W.Va. 9 and proceed to the VA medical center site at 510 Butler Ave., as per the sheriff’s office.
The caravan will walk 3,000 miles one way to reach Washington, D.C. from its starting point in California.
They are going to the Vietnam War Memorial on the Washington Mall to lay a plaque there when they get there.
