Trump blasts shameless Biden’s ‘abuse & miscarriage of justice’ after president PARDONS son Hunter in screeching U-turn

ANGRY Joe Biden’s pardon of his own son has been called a “abuse and miscarriage of justice” by Donald Trump.

Hunter, 54, a former crack addict, was given a “full and unconditional pardon” by the outgoing president yesterday night, sparing him from going to prison.

Biden, 82, who has always maintained that he would pardon his son or commute his sentence, made a screaming U-turn.

Hunter’s sentencing for his conviction on federal gun crimes was scheduled on December 12.

After entering a guilty plea to federal tax evasion charges in September, he was also scheduled to be sentenced on December 16 in a different criminal case.

Biden has come under fire from President-elect Trump, 78, for using his authority to pardon his son less than two months before he was set to leave office.

He added, “Does the pardon given by Joe to Hunter include the J-6 hostages, who have now been imprisoned for years?” in reference to those incarcerated for the disturbance at the US Capitol on January 6, 2021.

Such a travesty of justice and abuse.”

Biden’s shocking move has even caused him to lose support from his own party.

Democratic Governor of Colorado Jared Polis criticized Biden’s choice, saying he was prioritizing “family over the nation.”

He wrote: “As a father, I can definitely relate to President Joe Biden’s instinctive need to pardon his son, but I am unhappy that he prioritized his family before the nation.

“This is a bad precedent that could be abused by later Presidents and will sadly tarnish his reputation.”

As he announced his bold choice last night, Biden said his son had been “unfairly prosecuted”.

In June, the departing US leader declared that he would “not pardon Hunter, 54, a former crack addict who was found guilty of three firearm charges.”

“I abide by the jury decision,” he declared at the time. I won’t forgive him, but I will do that.

The White House once more denied a pardon in the wake of Donald Trump’s victory in last month’s US presidential election.

On November 8, Karine Jean-Pierre, the press secretary, stated: We have been asked that question several times. Our response remains unchanged: no.

But when he granted the pardon yesterday night, he startled both his supporters and opponents.

“Today, I signed a pardon for my son Hunter,” Biden stated in a White House statement.

“From the day I took office, I said I would not interfere with the Justice Department decision-making, and I kept my word even as I have watched my son being selectively, and unfairly, prosecuted.”

He went on: “I have always operated under the straightforward tenet of telling the American people the truth. They will be impartial.

The fact is that, although I have struggled with this, I also think that raw politics has corrupted the legal system and caused a miscarriage of justice. I decided this weekend that there was no point in further postponing it.
