TWELVE A terrifying automobile crash in Estonia has injured British soldiers.
Three of the most critically injured were still in hospitals in Britain after eight of them were transported back there.
The soldiers served as part of a NATO mission to protect the eastern border from Russian aggression.
On Friday, a six-car pile-up involving a convoy of three Army minibuses.
The men were about 20 miles from Russia and traveling in blizzard conditions.
Five civilians and twelve British soldiers were transported by ambulance to nearby hospitals.

On Sunday, a C-17 Globemaster medevac jet carrying an intensive care unit was scrambled by the RAF.
The injured were flown to Birmingham Airport by medics who had gathered them from Tallinn.
They were sent to the Royal Centre for Defence Medicine at Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
Two private cars collided at a crossroads, resulting in the crash.
According to local accounts, a 37-year-old woman struck a 62-year-old lady driving a BMW 530D when she turned across the highway in a Volvo S80.
Three Toyota personnel carriers made up the Army convoy, and their drivers were unable to stop them.
The collision also included a larger Mercedes Sprinter that was traveling in the opposite way.
Operation Cabrit, the UK’s contribution to NATO’s strengthened forward presence aimed at discouraging Russian aggression, was where the troops were serving.
Approximately 900 British soldiers move through Estonia, where the UK maintains armoured infantry groups, mobile heavy artillery guns, multiple launch rocket launchers, and Challenger 2 tanks.
At approximately 5 p.m. on Friday, the accident occurred while the soldiers were returning from the UK base at Tapa.
At least five ambulances were parked at the rear of the RAF fighter, which had its tail ramp open, according to photos.
