Two-time Super Bowl winner Shaq Barrett makes major unretirement decision with NFL team to make call over his future
TWO-TIME According to reports, NFL Pro Bowl linebacker Shaq Barrett has unexpectedly changed his mind about retiring.
NFL teams can now call the 32-year-old two-time Super Bowl champion if they want his services in the league.
Barrett’s agents, Robert Bailey and Drew Rosenhaus, informed ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter on Tuesday that the former NFL player had submitted an application for immediate reinstatement.
Barrett’s contractual rights are retained by the Miami Dolphins, who signed him to a one-year contract in March.
Barrett declared his intention to retire in July, stating that he was “ready to shift my full focus to my wife and kids and helping them realize [their] dreams.”
Barrett was cut by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as part of a cost-cutting measure, and the Dolphins signed him.
