Ukraine holds first war talks with Trump’s top team to thrash out plan to finally END conflict with Russia
TOP High-level discussions to develop strategies to resolve the dispute with Russia have taken place between Ukrainian authorities and the team of US President-elect Donald Trump.
The discussions come after Volodymyr Zelenskiy, the president of Ukraine, said that he would be amenable to talks.
Key members of Donald Trump’s transition team, including Keith Kellogg and Mike Waltz, the nominee for National Security Advisor, met with the Ukrainian group, which was led by Andriy Yermak.
JD Vance, the incoming vice president, participated in the talks.
The Wall Street Journal reports that Ukraine will declare its peace readiness, but Yermak emphasized that any deal must be long-lasting.
Zelensky recently hinted that if Ukraine were allowed to join NATO, it may consent to a cease-fire.

Ukraine would also use diplomatic pressure to reclaim Ukrainian territories that Russia had occupied.
It follows Vladimir Putin’s declaration that he was prepared to speak with Trump about a ceasefire in Ukraine.
