Vanderpump Rules star Tom Schwartz ‘gutted’ by restaurant closing and feels ‘abandoned’ by business partner Tom Sandoval
The U.S. Sun can exclusively disclose that TOM Schwartz is devastated over closing his restaurant, Schwartz & Sandy’s, his passion endeavor, after feeling abandoned by business partner Tom Sandoval.
Fans who wish to visit their renowned bar for a final hurrah will have little notice as the Vanderpump Rules stars announced on Monday that they will be unexpectedly closing in a few weeks.
After years of significant financial investments and personal sacrifices, the statement was unexpected, despite rumors that the restaurant industry had drastically slowed down.
This eatery is a labor of love for the Toms. According to an individual who spoke to The U.S. Sun, Schwartz gave it everything he had, including his blood, sweat, and tears.
He sacrificed everything for it, and it practically cost him his marriage. He came in almost every night to draw people in and attempted to create events.
I believe Schwartz felt abandoned by Sandoval since he had a lot of ideas while he was off doing his own thing. [Sandoval] didn’t work as hard and wasn’t around very much.

Months and months of [Scandoval] and even beyond would pass before he returned. However, it has really affected them both.
They both made huge financial investments, and they are heartbroken and utterly distraught. They continued to tossing ideas, but nothing stuck, much like throwing spaghetti at a wall.
The insider went on to say that it turned out to be a money pit from which they were unable to escape.
In November 2022, Schwartz & Sandy, their first business endeavor outside from Tom Tom mentor Lisa Vanderpump, opened in a Franklin Village strip mall.
Vanderpump Rules chronicled their arduous and protracted effort to open the space, during which Schwartza acknowledged that he would most likely still be married if it weren’t for his time and financial dedication to the bar.
The U.S. Sun exclusively reported that Katie Maloney had split from husband Schwartz a few months before to the bar’s opening.
In addition, Sandoval made numerous sacrifices for his family as well as for himself.
Sandoval, 42, disclosed during the season 10 reunion that his mother invested all of her retirement funds, or about $250,000, in Schwartz & Sandy’s.
According to Sandoval, “my mom and my stepdad invested a quarter of a million dollars into this business venture, I mean, into me.”
Tom said that he had not yet reimbursed his mother when host Andy Cohen questioned if he had.
“I’m more concerned with getting her her money back, getting her their money back, than I am with getting my money back,” Schwartz continued.
Sandoval had been mostly absent from Schwartz & Sandy’s since Scandoval broke out last year, despite the strain of investing so much money in the business.
Sandoval seldom posted on social media to invite people to join him, while Schwartz frequently did so when he was at the bar.
[Sandoval] is rarely seen in here. An employee of Schwartz & Sandy’s told The U.S. Sun earlier this year that although it has only been a few months, Schwartz is in here almost every day.
After the reality star had an affair with Rachel Leviss during his ten-year relationship with Adriana Madix, fans were outspoken about how much they detested him.
Hateful remarks were written in the restaurant’s restroom, and the establishment’s internet reputation was severely damaged by one-star ratings.
As a result, Sandoval avoided the company for months and remained away even after the controversy subsided.
Sandoval was also out of town when he went on tour with his cover band, yet ticket sales for that tour also suffered because many venues were not even half full.
While Schwartz has been seen working nonstop, Sandoval has been spending more time with his girlfriend, Victoria, and has not seemed to be as interested with the bar in recent weeks.
Additionally, he spent weeks abroad filming the next season of Peacock’s The Traitors.
END OF AN ERA
On Monday, Sandoval and Schwartz announced the closing of their bar on their Instagram profiles in separate posts.
“We regretfully have to announce that we will be closing Schwartz & Sandy’s at the end of December,” Sandoval’s message said.
My partners and I haven’t made this decision easily, but other obligations and priorities have taken precedence.
“Even though this business adventure has been an amazing life milestone that I will always treasure, I am looking forward to interesting new ventures.
“Thank you to the amazing staff and all of our supporters. The real recognition is something you earn.
