Walmart forced to apologize after telling shopper to ‘be more patient’ over refund that took a month
WALMART have had to apologize after telling a frustrated shopper to “be more patient”, even though their refund took over a month.
The complaint encouraged equally annoyed shoppers to share their negative experiences with the store.
It was issued after a shopper, who goes by Lars Frederiksen on X, wrote an angry complaint on November 9.
The post read: “I love when @Walmart is a month late on a refund and then asks me to be more patient.”
Two days later on November 11, Walmart’s official X account responded imploring Lars to reach out to them to discuss the issue further.
They replied: “We apologize for this inconvenience, Lars!

“Can you please DM us the order confirmation number, and the email associated with your order so we can help you further?”
Despite the chain’s timely response, this didn’t stop fellow X users from sharing their angry Walmart stories.
One comment read: “they promised me a refund and don’t need to return it the store and to discarded it and now said they need the item… I have to sue them now bc no one wants to help me”.
Another chimed in: “Demand a gift card for your troubles. They’ll cave. I’ve had issues many times with Star Wars figures, often money tied up for a year on a pre order”.
A third claimed: “they took a month to ship one of my rancid records which is ironic lmao”.
Lars’ post has been seen over 3,000 times on the platform, as well as liked over 50 times with 12 comments.
WALMART CONTROVERSY
In November, the store came under fire for reportedly shutting down the check out lane whilst shoppers were still using it.
Shoppers say they were not warned about the shutdown.
One shopper claimed they had stood in line for 15 minutes before it suddenly closed.
The checkout belt shut down when the shopper was apparently unloading his cart.
They then alleged they were not given any notice.
“No warning other than them turning the light off as I was getting ready to unload the cart,” the shopper said.
Walmart have launched a probe to figure out what caused the outage.
Why doesn’t Walmart offer Apple Pay?
CEO of Walmart Doug McMillon has revealed why stores don’t offer Apple Pay on Stratechery with Ben Thompson.
Though using Apple Pay at the retailer has been an ongoing conversation, McMillon emphasized that “We would like to have the customers open our app in the store all the time.”
The app can be used to help find items in the store, but it can also be used to pay for your purchases.
“That’s one of the things that we would like people to use our app for,” he said.
In other Walmart controversies, a delivery mishap caused holiday mayhem after the shopper claiming it ruined their Christmas plans.
An angry social media post read: “@Walmart do better guys especially if things are marked as a gift keep the stuff in a Walmart box…” they wrote in a post to X.
“Y’all are ruining the kids’ Christmas if they can see the gifts when delivered.”

Normally, there are no indicators as to what is inside as Walmart delivery box if the shopper asked for this option.
This is to maintain surprise for when children get to open their gifts on Christmas
