Walmart shoppers spot two huge changes to storefront but customers prefer its old look and color scheme
Despite the response to its latest redesign, WALMART continues to make aesthetic adjustments.
For the first time in 17 years, the company changed its logo and color scheme earlier in January, much to the chagrin of customers who said they couldn’t identify the difference.
Now, customers on social media are seeing significant name changes in addition to the new blue hue and wider stems on the yellow spark.

Neighborhood was dropped from MyWalmartNeighborhood Market’s name, and the city was added in its place.
A picture of the store, which is now known as Walmart Pinellas Park Market, was also uploaded by him.

Smaller stores in urban areas that provide a variety of groceries and household goods are typically the retailer’s local markets.
They are about a quarter of the size of Walmart Supercenters and number about 700 nationwide.
To set them out from the larger supercenters of the firm, they were painted green.
The group’s response was divided; some members supported the modifications, while others opposed them.
According to one, they did that in Jeffersontown and St. Matthews, Kentucky, which are close to Louisville.
Another person stated that it makes things feel more local.
A third, however, commented: I think some are just referred to as Walmart Market without the city name. I’m not sure what or why they changed it. However, I like it.
However, some customers did not like the storefront changes and preferred the previous appearance of the establishments.
The green color scheme of Walmart Neighborhood Market locations was appealing to me. Unfortunately, with these store renovations, they are getting rid with that style.
Another Facebook user concurred.
What is Walmart’s Scan and Go?
Walmart created Scan and Go to help customers save time.
The purpose of Walmart’s Scan and Go technology is to enable customers to scan products while they buy, pay, and depart without having to wait in lengthy checkout lines.
The retailer breaks down the new system into a few simple steps:
- Customers first need to have the Walmart app downloaded on their phones with their location access enabled.
- On the Store Mode landing page, shoppers must click the Scan and Go option.
- Customers can scan each item and place them in their carts as they shop.
- At the end, they’ll be prompted to view the cart to make sure the quantity on the app matches the ones in their carts.
- Shoppers will press “Check Out” and head to a self-checkout kiosk.
- They’ll be prompted to scan the provided QR code at the register and confirm their payment method.
- Once the transaction is complete, shoppers can leave the store without worry.
None of them received the name change, and all of ours in the Boise region were only renovated last year.
They simply switched to the typical Walmart blue and lost their green hue.
I preferred the green since it made it simpler to determine if it was a neighborhood market or a full store while passing in strange places.
SHOPPER STRIFE
The modifications follow Walmart’s announcement of four strategic adjustments for the business.
An improved in-store experience is one of these.
Over the last three years, the retailer has renovated about 700 locations annually to enhance the shopping experience for patrons.
Additionally, more changes of this nature are planned for 2025.
John David Rainey, chief financial officer at Walmart, stated, “When you walk into one of these remodeled stores, it’s a very, very different experience from what you’ve thought about historically.”
Increased product availability both online and in-store, increased brand partnerships with social media influencers, and the much-criticized Walmart logo and spark revamp are the other significant improvements that have been announced.
Customers who are frustrated will be hopeful that the company’s emphasis on improving the in-store experience would carry over to the checkout process.
Walmart has received a lot of criticism from irate consumers regarding their self-checkout policy and the quantity of self-checkout and traditional checkouts that are open at any given moment.

While some stores have been accused of reserving self-checkout kiosks for Walmart Plus members, others have imposed a 15-item limit.
Disgruntled customers have also voiced their displeasure about lengthy queues and delays brought on the closed checkouts, and some have even abandoned their carts as a result.
