The Flying Ship Company, as the name suggests, is confident that this will transform maritime transportation and that it will be far less expensive to use than flying.
Built with dynamic wings and hover engines, the sleek design glides across the waves with ease before taking off a few feet in the air in futuristic footage.
In a design that its designers hope will revolutionize maritime cargo transportation, the drone zips across the waves as quickly as it enters them again.
According to a spokesman of the Flying Ship Company, the primary purpose of our flying ship is to convey freight.
It greatly increases the efficiency of inter-island trade by being ideal for transporting goods from one island to another.

[The Flying Ship] lowers delivery costs to a fifth of what regular planes would charge and provides an unlimited number of coastal delivery spots.

That representative claims that the company’s new model can transport up to 22 kilograms of freight and runs on batteries.
Its wingspan is 10 feet, and its flying range is 80 kilometers.

The Flying Ship Company claims on its website that they boost the aircraft’s speed and lift by using the drag created by the wingtips.
The spacecraft flies near enough to the ground to create an air cushion, which generates enough lift to lift the ship off the ground.

According to a news release, the company claims to have completed 70 flights, most likely from earlier ship versions.
At the 2025 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the updated model was introduced.
Bill Peterson, the company’s CEO, clarified that the company plans to introduce larger models in the future.
“Our craft operates just above the surface,” he stated.
Flying Ships are logistics-focused marine aircraft that fly in ground effect and can beach anywhere along the coast, opening up huge logistical potential. They have five different sized ships that can handle loads ranging from 50 to 6,000 pounds at ranges of 50 to 2,300 miles.
The representative continued by stating that the model had high-capacity batteries and sophisticated sensors.
They clarified that two additional models are planned for release this year after the latest model was unveiled at CES.
