Watch heartstopping moment screaming man clings for his life to CLIFF FACE before helicopter swoops in for daring rescue
A helicopter swoops in for a daring rescue as a frightened man clings for his life on a cliff face in this heart-stopping moment.
He is said to have slipped and fallen while trekking above a San Francisco beach, but he was able to grab onto the rockface.
The November 17 operation is seen in dramatic video.
As the rescuer swiftly lowers himself on a winch to reach the stranded victim, the video shows him looking down on him.
When a bystander promptly calls 911, the victim is seized and safely removed from the cliff face in an effective operation.
The two are then seen flying over the ocean like characters in an action film to get to dry land as the helicopter takes off from the threat.

Just before 1pm, the event happened above Baker Beach.
Together with the fire department, the CHP Golden Gate Division Air Operations Unit conducted the rescue operation.
According to Lt. Mariano Elias, a spokesman for the San Francisco Fire Department (SSFD), “He was very appreciative and thanked us for helping him.”
The reason the man was on the cliff in the first place has not yet been made public.
He was hiking away from a designated trail when he slipped and fell, a firefighter on the scene informed local media.
Marino, however, remarked that he had no idea how the man got into the dangerous situation.
He claimed that although it was unknown if the individual “had climbed up from the beach or down from the trail,” he had been “hoisted to the beach” after being safely rescued.
Thus, the firefighter’s story can only be regarded as conjecture.
The length of time the man was stranded on the ledge and the identity of the passerby who dialed 911 are still unknown.
The man refused on-scene medical treatment and survived the scrape unharmed.
A barrage of congratulations greeted the rescue video when it was uploaded on CHP’s Facebook page.
According to one comment, “Great job guys.”
“Thanks for serving our community,” remarked another.
The rescue was witnessed by one commentator.
She exclaimed: “Excellent work!
“My girls and I were there and saw the brave heroes in action!”
HEROIC HIKER RESCUE
A blind man and his guide dog were saved during an equally spectacular aerial rescue in July.
In Oregon, 55-year-old Bing Olbum and his dog were hiking with a friend when they got stuck.
The unnamed hiker and his companion set out on the Rogue River Trail on July 3.
On July 6, the hiker’s companion became aware of symptoms of heat exhaustion.
Due to a lack of cell coverage, he had to find another means to get help after attempting to call the emergency services.
The companion left food and water for the hiker and his dog and walked to Gold Beach to dial 911.

The blind hiker was waiting in a remote place, so despite best attempts, assistance could not get there right once.
The US Coast Guard Pacific Northwest was unable to save the guy and his dog until July 8.
