Watch: Incredible Helicopter Rescue Saves Injured Hiker in Black Star Canyon

DEBARYLIFE – Yesterday, a hiker in the treacherous Black Star Canyon found himself in a difficult situation after getting hurt.

This was an especially difficult extraction, but the person is safe now because of the quick response of a skilled helicopter rescue team.

To perform the hoist operation, the team had to maneuver through extremely difficult conditions, such as gusting gusts and a small area.

An image of the incident was posted on Facebook by Orange County Fire Authority, showing how they promptly evaluated, treated, and readied the patient for the risky ascent after lowering their paramedic to the site.

Securing the sufferer to the savior was a very complex operation, but once done, both of them were carefully lifted back into the helicopter.

This rescue is only one example of the many important operations these teams frequently complete.
