Watch “SCARY”! 95-Year-Old Woman’s Joy As Missing Sculpture Is Found After 40 Years”
DEBARYLIFE – A sculpture of the 95-year-old retired seamstress that was believed to have been lost for almost 40 years was found and returned to her when her granddaughter located the piece online.
Four decades ago, Kozinn & Sons Tailors, Maria Pulsone’s employer in New York, decided to honor her Italian immigrant background with a 51-inch sculpture that would hang in the lobby.
Her entire body was covered in plaster during the procedure, and the only way she could breathe was through a pair of straws in her nostrils.
For many years, the sculpture was on display in the Manhattan tailor shop’s lobby; however, it disappeared when the company moved.
The artwork was thought to be lost, according to Pulsone, but her granddaughter Jennifer Pulsone Heppner recently decided to check if it was still intact somewhere.
It turned out that Pulsone Heppner’s and her husband Brian’s quest for the sculpture was surprisingly brief. They quickly learned that the “woman sewing statue” was for sale at an antique warehouse in Scranton, Pennsylvania, after conducting an internet search for it.

Pulsone Heppner told WPIX-TV, “They gave us a Black Friday special for $600.”
Pulsone and her family attended the sculpture’s unveiling at the Italian American Museum on the Lower East Side, which was given to them by the family as a gift.
“It’s a part of me,” Pulsone remarked. It’s a great honor for all Italians, everywhere in Italy. I experience myself as a princess. I am fortunate. Now is a very important time.”
