THIS is the shocking moment a “bear” was captured ripping up a £165,000 Rolls Royce.

Footage shows a bear-shaped figured ripping up a luxury car, scratching the interior of the car.

However, it’s not all as it seems – with the cops being called on the owners after they attempted to file an insurance claim for damages.

As it turns out, the so-called “bear” was allegedly part of an insurance fraud scheme.

Four people were arrested and charged with alleged insurance fraud and conspiracy after the California Department of Insurance investigators realised that the “bear” was actually a human in a costume.

The vid came to light after the owners filed a claim with their insurance company, stating the bear entered the 2010 Rolls-Royce Ghost at Lake Arrowhead at the start of the year.

The footage was released by the California Department of Insurance.

The costume featured furry bear head, arm pieces, leg pieces and sharp claws that could be used to rip the interior of the car.

According to the insurance department, investigators looking into the claim suspected the culprit was wearing a bear culprit.

The footage was then taken to biologists with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife who confirmed “it was clearly a human in a bear suit.”

A spokesperson for the insurance department said: “Upon further scrutiny of the video, the investigation determined the bear was actually a person in a bear costume.”

It wasn’t the first time the quartet tried to de-fraud their insurance company.

According to the California Department of Insurance, investigators also found two other claims with two different insurance companies under the suspects’ names.

The claims were for the same date and location that involved two different cars, a 2015 Mercedes G63 AMG and a 2022 Mercedes E350.

The suspects allegedly defrauded the insurance companies $141,839, the insurance department said.

It’s not the only time a bear was suspected to be a human in a costume.

A Chinese zoo was forced to deny its bear was a human in a costume after the animal was filmed waving at spectators.

Speculation continues to grow as social media users can bear-ly believe that human-like “Angela” is a real sun bear.

Noticing its slender legs, baggy roles of fur around the hips and typically uncharacteristic behaviour, people across the world have been poking fun at and questioning Angela’s authenticity.

The zoo responded to the wild claims from the perspective of four-year-old Angela: “Some people think I stand like a person. It seems you don’t understand me very well.”

“When it comes to bears, the first thing that comes to mind is a huge figure and amazing power … But not all bears are behemoths and danger personified.

They also claimed that a human inside a heavy costume would never survive the soaring summer temperatures of around 40C.

“If a person did wear a bear costume, they would be lying down within minutes due to the heat,” a spokesman said.

Meanwhile, a group of savage bears are feared to have acquired a taste for human flesh.

Residents of the peaceful island of Hokkaido, in Japan, have been grappling with fears over the “ninja bears” who have been attacking humans and devouring cattle.

For many years, the eastern part of the city was haunted by one huge beast of a bear called Oso18 who sparked terror in the region with his rampant attacks.

Local media called him a “ninja bear” after he successfully avoided all the traps authorities set to catch him.

Within just four years, the 7ft 3in beast had savagely attacked 66 cows near the towns of Shibecha and Akkeshi in eastern Hokkaido, of which 32 died.

When authorities started to search for him, they discovered massive pawprints that he had left behind after the horror attacks.

The fearful animal was finally shot dead by a hunter last year, marking the end of his long reign of terror.

But just when there was a sigh of relief among the locals of the town after the beast died, similar attacks began to happen again.

And locals started to fear the return of a new Oso18.

So far, multiple attacks have been recorded where the beast once wreaked havoc.
