WEATHER WARFARE! TORNADO Warnings and Severe STORMS Leave Central NC in Disarray
RALEIGH, N.C.- Tornado warnings and a tornado watch were issued on Memorial Day in the central region of North Carolina as a result of heavy storms that caused localized damage.
There were a few storms that came through the area on Monday morning, but the most severe weather began after three o’clock in the afternoon. This weather caused hail, torrential rains, and toppled trees, as well as widespread power outages.
The town of Enfield, located in Halifax County, was under a tornado warning for around forty-five minutes on Monday afternoon. During that time, hail measuring one inch landed in the area. It was approximately 3:30 in the afternoon when the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office took a video of the hail that was falling in a neighborhood.

According to the Scotland Neck Police Department, a number of trees and electrical wires were brought down in the Downing Drive area of Scotland Neck at approximately 4:45 p.m., which is located in addition to the county of Halifax. Additionally, there was flooding on the streets.
Approximately ten minutes after the storms began, the National Weather Service reported that massive tree limbs had fallen at the intersection of Mattox Street and Old Zebulon Road in Wendell, which is located in Wake County.
A big tree has fallen on Mial Plantation Road, which is located close to Raleigh. There were a few tree limbs that had fallen in Wendell, close to the intersection of Wall Street and Todd Street.
In accordance with the information provided by the weather service, Duke Energy stated that trees that fell on powerlines around two miles south-southwest of Wendell caused a power outage that affected approximately one thousand customers.
Approximately six miles to the south-southwest of Nashville, a utility firm in Nash County reported several hundred power outages due to fallen trees on lines. The disruptions occurred just after four o’clock yesterday afternoon.
At around 4:25 p.m., a tree that had fallen in Nash County caused North Carolina State Route 97 to be closed close to Tarboro Road, which is located north-northwest of Sharpsburg. According to the North Carolina Department of Transportation, the road was reopened at approximately 6:40 p.m.
