Wendy Williams is ‘permanently incapacitated’ from her ‘tragic’ dementia battle, her guardian claims in court

In court, Wendy Williams’ guardian asserted that she is “permanently incapacitated” due to her “tragic” fight with dementia.

As Wendy fights with Lifetime over the program, the U.S. Sun can exclusively disclose the startling court admission made by her guardians, Sabrina Morrissey, that was recorded. Wendy Williams, where are you?

According to the document, Sabrina’s legal team refers to Wendy, 60, as “an acclaimed entertainer who, tragically, has been afflicted by early-onset dementia and, as a result, has become cognitively impaired and permanently incapacitated.”

Wendy’s devoted fan base has been devastated by the admission of the severity of her sickness; many of them had hoped that she would one day make a victorious comeback.

According to the filing, “In January 2022, after becoming aware of a pattern of disturbing events concerning [Wendy’s] welfare and finances, Wells Fargo took the highly unusual step of initiating a guardianship proceeding on its own initiative in the Supreme Court of New York, New York County (the ‘Guardianship Proceeding’), to seek the court appointment of an independent guardian for W.W.H. s financial affairs.”

In order to preserve Wendy’s privacy, the guardian’s legal team requests in the document that specific details of the case pertaining to her “health, familial relationships, and finances” be omitted.

RESTRAINING ORDER & LAWSUITS

Wendy’s guardian attempted to use a restraining order back in February to prevent Lifetime from airing a documentary about the legendary TV talk show host.

An appeal judge swiftly reversed the motion, ruling that preventing Lifetime from screening the documentary would be an unlawful prior restriction on speech that would violate the organization’s First Amendment.

Days before the documentary’s premiere, on February 20, Wendy’s guardian filed a lawsuit against Lifetime and the production companies involved. However, the guardian “never served the Original Complaint,” according to the filing.

On September 16, 2024, she filed an updated lawsuit, which was served to all defendants, including director Mark Ford, A&E Television Networks, Entertainment One Reality Productions, Lifetime Entertainment Services, and Creature Films.

In October, the case was transferred from the New York Supreme Court to a federal court.

According to sources, Wendy received the sad diagnosis of alcohol-related brain injury in 2019 while undergoing treatment in Delray Beach, Florida.

As part of Wendy’s rehabilitation stay in Florida, a brain scan was performed.

“The physician informed them that Wendy had brain damage as a result of drinking. According to the source, “they informed her that the layers in her brain had been permanently damaged by her alcohol abuse.”
