Wheel of Fortune fans spot ‘real reason why’ Ryan Seacrest doesn’t do final spin as they speculate break in tradition

Fans of the popular gameshow Wheel of Fortune have expressed their perplexity about a particular element of the show on social media.

The game show Wheel of Fortune, which is presently in its 42nd season, will return to television in September with a new presenter.

After Pat Sajak retired, Ryan Seacrest became the new host of the venerable gameshow at the beginning of the fall.

However, after watching the current series for a few weeks, one fan has expressed how confused they are by a certain scene.

The perplexed fan posted a question regarding the manner rookie Ryan hosts the show on Reddit because it was disturbing them.

“Why doesn’t Ryan Seacrest do the final spin?” they were asking.

WHEEL-Y BAD

IT’S A YES!

Then they said, “Isn’t it customary for the host to make the last spin? He can’t reach the wheel, am I right?

“I believe Pat used to do final spin, but at some point, it was the contestant in command of the wheel,” someone commented.

According to a second individual, “Pat stopped doing the final spin a few seasons back.”

“The same reason Pat stopped, you must be new here,” echoed a third.

And an additional participant stated, “Patdid used to do the final spin, but that changed in S39, allowing contestants who had control of the Wheel give the final spin.”

NEW HOST WITH THE MOST

Pat Sajak, who had been the show’s host for 40 years alongside Vanna White, revealed last year that he would be leaving, with his retirement starting in June of this year.

Then Ryan Secrest was named, and in a statement last summer, he said he was “truly humbled to be stepping into the footsteps of the legendary Pat Sajak” as the next host.

“What a legend Pat Sajak is. He makes everything appear so effortless, flawless, and uncomplicated. “He’s amazing,” Ryan had exclaimed earlier.

Fans were quick to express their opinions about the new series after Ryan replaced Pat in September, and not all of them were happy.

‘OVER THE TOP’

At the time, a Reddit user questioned, “Does anyone besides me feel like the entire new WoF is just over the top?”

Wheel of Fortune’s big changes

Now that Pat Sajak is no longer hosting the game show, Ryan Seacrest has significantly changed it.

-Ryan and Vanna White now present on a brand-new set that includes an art-deco wheel design, a green screen, and a blue-toned stage.

-Ryan and Vanna enter the room through newly installed sliding doors that are well-lit.

-Vanna rotates—or, more recently, touches—a contemporary, laser-controlled digital puzzle board.

-Pat’s trademark cue cards have been abandoned in favor of Ryan’s new hosting approach.

Additionally, the rewards have been improved to now include A-list concert tickets and NFL game tickets.

“From the set to the contestants’ attire and even their conduct,” they went on. In particular, tonight’s male competitor. They nearly seem like actors to me. It feels ‘extra’ in an unnatural way.

Then someone said, “I thought this would occur once Pat retired. The overproduction and artificial emotion trends are being followed by Wheel of Fortune.

“With all of the cuts and noises from the competitors, tonight’s show in particular makes you feel lightheaded and overwhelmed. The puzzle is nearly impossible to follow.

“Maybe the ratings don’t support this, but I’ve always preferred authentic emotions,” the commenter ended. Authenticity is good, but you don’t want snoozefest candidates.
