American singer and actor Earl Holliman was born on September 11, 1928, and was well-known for his Western drama and movie character parts.
Rising to stardom in the 1950s and 1960s, the Delhi, Louisiana-born actor was awarded a Golden Globe for his supporting performance in the 1956 romantic drama The Rainmaker.
Holliman had a record agreement with well-known recording studios including Capitol Records Prep and HiFi, and he also sang.
In addition to his acting career, Holliman was a well-known animal rights advocate and the 25-year President of Actors and Others for Animals.
