Regretfully, Captain Tom died on February 2, 2021.

The Ingram-Moore family released the following statement at the time: “We regret to inform you of the passing of our beloved father, Captain Sir Tom Moore.

“Hannah, Benjie, and Georgia were by his bedside during his final hours, and Lucy was with him via FaceTime. We are so thankful for that.

We talked to him for hours, remembering our great mother and our early years. Together, we cried and laughed.

“Our father’s final year of life was truly extraordinary. He felt refreshed and had experiences he had only ever imagined.

“Whilst he d been in so many hearts for just a short time, he was an incredible father and grandfather, and he will stay alive in our hearts forever.”

What happened to the Captain Tom Moore foundation?

Hannah, Captain Tom’s daughter, disclosed after his death that Sir Tom’s family had retained 800K from novels she had authored.

She disclosed how her late father had wished for his family to retain the proceeds from the three novels in Club Nook Ltd., a business independent of the Captain Tom Foundation charity, in an open interview with TalkTV’s Piers Morgan in October 2023.

Piers also questioned Colin about the money.

“This was one of the most difficult interviews of my career… the bottom line is they should never have accepted or kept a penny from anything to do with Captain Tom and public money,” he remarked subsequent to the interview.

It was a betrayal of his legacy in addition to being blatantly immoral and a conflict of interest.

In the interview, the family acknowledged that no one wants to deal with them or the businesses they are connected to these days.

Ingram-Moore, 54, and her husband Colin, 67, are believed to have used a large portion of the funds to construct an illegal luxury spa in their yard under the charity name of the Captain Tom Foundation.

By July 2024, the family revealed that the Charity Commission had barred Hannah and her husband from serving as trustees for the charity.

The family said they vehemently disagree with the watchdog’s ruling, calling the investigation a torturous and crippling experience and accusing the panel of an unrelenting hunt.

The pair deceived the public by suggesting that revenues from items sold on their website would go to the charity, according to a Charity Commission report published in November 2024.

Customers were instead sent to other websites where no money was raised for charity causes.

Despite apparently making over $100,000 from the sale of Captain Tom gin, the couple only donated $8,900 to the charity.

With the premise that a donation would be made to the charity, publishers Penguin gave the Ingram-Moores’ private firm a 1.4 million advance for Captain Tom’s memoir.

But the organization only received $17,000 in royalties.

According to the report’s conclusion, the public would naturally feel misinformed because the organization has not received any donations.

Mick Neville, the former manager of the Manchester Met, denounced the behavior, calling it “wicked and greedy.”
