Who is Tony Buzbee? Lawyer who accused Jay-Z of raping a minor
The Astroworld Festival lawsuit is one of the largest cases in America that TONY Buzbee is involved with.
He accused Sean Diddy Combes and Jay-Z, also known as Shawn Corey Carter, of sexually abusing a juvenile in a lawsuit he filed against them in late 2024.

Fighting for justice
Before starting his own legal practice, Tony briefly worked as a briefing lawyer and as a member of Susman Godfrey LLP.
In 2000, he founded the Buzbee Law Firm.
The Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill, the Astroworld Festival Lawsuit, and numerous other significant matters have been handled by Tony.
In addition to scores of shrimpers, seafood restaurants, and dock workers impacted by the Deepwater Horizon spill, he represented 15 of the rig workers.
After a protracted legal battle, BP finally reached a settlement with the Department of Justice and is said to have paid $47 billion in compensation.
Tony stood in for 120 individuals who perished or were hurt in the crush following the Astroworld Festival tragedy, which claimed ten lives as the crowd rushed forward.
Tony sued Travis Scott, the artist who had hosted the event, for $750 million in 2021.
A settlement was reached out of court.
The Jay-Z lawsuit
Tony filed a lawsuit in October 2024 on behalf of a client who wished to remain anonymous and accused Sean Diddy Combes of sexual assault in 2000.
Rapper and businessman Jay-Z was added to the case when it was refiled on December 8, 2024.
Although the hip-hop singer disputes all of the accusations against him, the attorney also represents fifty additional plaintiffs who have accused Combes of assault.
Additionally, Jay-Z has refuted every accusation leveled against him.
On December 9, Roc Nation, the rapper’s entertainment firm, claimed on social media that Tony was a scammer attempting to blackmail him.
Tony shared a photo of himself from his time in the Marine Corps along with a forceful comment amid a heated internet debate.
He wrote in the post’s caption: Do you know this guy?
This photo is from our old Western Pacific trip book and shows the Weapons Platoon Commander, Alpha Company, First Battalion, Fourth Marines.
I’m still THAT guy despite a concerted and aggressive effort that has included harassing my children, contacting my clients and former clients to urge them to sue me, contacting my coworkers and former employees to inquire if I’ve “abused” them, showing up at the home of my current employee to harass them, filing baseless lawsuits against me and my law firm, making outrageous claims against me to anyone who will listen, and having enigmatic individuals follow me and my family.

I refuse to be intimidated or harassed.
