And she’s doing it once more. At the World Indoor Bowls Championships 2025, Julie defeated six-time champion and favorite Katherine Rendall in the opening round.

Julie Forrest is a professional bowls player from Scotland who plays both indoor and outdoor variations of the game.
She belongs to the Scottish Borders’ Teviotdale Indoor Bowls Club.
In addition, Julie is a Scottish Indoor Bowling Association (SIBA) Honorary Life Member.
Since 2003, she has been a member of Tiger Bowls.
She was admitted to the Scottish Borders Hall of Fame in 2007.
What has Julie Forrest won?
Julie’s two World Indoor Bowls Championship women’s singles championships in 2019 and 2020 are her greatest achievements.
She talked candidly about how winning the Worlds would be the “pinnacle” of her career prior to taking home the first of those trophies.
“You have to dig deep,” she added. My career will reach its zenith if I win the final.
“It’s the last thing in ladies indoor bowls I can win, I’ve won everything else you can win this only thing I haven t won and I’m really looking forward to it.”
She also placed second in the mixed pairs division of the 2016 World Indoor Bowls Championship.
In 2021, she and Steward Anderson won their third World indoor championship.
Julie has won seven IIBC indoor titles, including three mixed pairs titles (2002, 2003, 2013) and a record four ladies’ singles wins (2004, 2010, 2013, 2014).
She is a record six-time Scottish indoor champion and has won the last three WBT Scottish Women’s Masters.
Julie is also a three-time indoor singles champion from the British Isles.
Julie took home the women’s singles title at the first-ever World Bowls Indoor Championships in 2022.
In Warilla, Australia, the following year, she defeated Katelyn Inch to keep the championship.
