The former football players, who each possess a 10% stake in Salford, are frequently known to as “The Class of 92” because they all began their careers in Manchester United’s academy in the early 1990s.

What did David Beckham say about joining the club?
David Beckham acquired stock in Salford City in 2019.
Regarding his 10% ownership at the time, Beckham stated: “I’m thrilled to be joining Peter Lim and the Class of 92 guys as an owner of Salford City.
Salford was where I spent my formative years in Manchester. It is wonderful to be able to join the guys today because I grew up there in many ways.
“Salford City has achieved so much success in a short space of time, the fans are incredible and I m really excited to be spending more time in Salford again.”
The Class of 92 went on to say: “We wanted David to be involved and accompany us on this amazing adventure from the outset, but obligations and circumstances prevented that.
“This is an exciting new chapter in Salford City’s history, and the time is right.
“It is important to emphasise that nothing will change in the day-to-day operations but to have us all together was always the vision.”
