A huge search was launched after Hannah Kobayashi vanished while traveling to New York for the trip of a lifetime.

Police stated that her father, Ryan, was sadly found dead on the morning of Sunday, November 25, 2024, despite having traveled to Los Angeles to assist authorities in finding his daughter.

In a parking lot close to Los Angeles Airport (LAX), his body was found.

An official cause of death has not been announced by police as of November 25.

Missing woman’s family says ‘cops didn’t question them for 10 days’

Bucket list trip

On a bucket list trip, she had intended to visit New York, but she never got there.

Kobayashi, 31, was scheduled to catch a trip to New York after arriving at LAX from the island of Maui on November 8.

On the morning of November 9, she would have arrived at JFK airport, but she wasn’t on the aircraft.

She did not arrive in the Empire State on the morning of November 9, which was her scheduled landing date.

On November 8, after missing her connecting flight, she started sending odd texts to her friends and family, claiming that she was afraid and that someone was attempting to steal her money.

This was the case even though Hannah had prepared an itinerary detailing the things she hoped to undertake during the vacation.

According to her plan, Hannah wanted to visit family and attend concerts while she was in New York.

“Everything is just a blur it seems because I haven’t slept well since I’ve heard the news, and I really don’t know — it’s just really concerning,” Ryan said after his daughter vanished.

Cryptic texts

When her phone began sending them mysterious texts, friends and family became alarmed.

When she should have been in New York, she was spotted at an event in Los Angeles.

“Not yet” was the only response Hannah’s mother, Brandi Yee, received when she messaged her daughter to check if she had arrived in New York.

Hannah said in one of the texts from her phone that she had been duped into donating money to a loved one.

It said: “I got tricked pretty much into giving away all my funds for someone I thought I loved.”

Other texts, however, seemed to indicate Hannah’s fear.

Surveillance footage

Hannah appeared to have missed her connecting flight, but surveillance footage showed her arriving at LAX on the evening of November 8.

The text messages didn’t sound like Hannah, and Sydni, Hannah’s sister, acknowledged that she was beginning to feel uneasy about them.

“I don’t know if it’s her or if someone else was texting,” she said to CBS affiliateKGMB.

“It was just really weird texts.”

Additionally, according to her aunt Larie Pidgeon, Hannah’s phone messages didn’t sound like those of her niece.

“Strange, cryptic messagesthings about the matrix, it was so unlike her,” she stated.

After viewing her insurveillance tape from November 11, Hannah’s relatives disclosed that they thought she was ill.

The footage purports to show the missing visitor in person with another individual when she was observed close to the city’s Pico metro station.

Since a ping on her cell phone on November 11, Hannah has not been seen or heard from; her last known whereabouts seems to be LAX.

Hannah’s family worries that she might have been trafficked or kidnapped.

We’re trying to keep hope alive, but it’s been almost a week and a day since she was last seen with this unidentified individual on November 11 and didn’t appear to be okay, so our thoughts are now turning to kidnapping and, I hate to say it, trafficking, Pidgeon told the NBC station KHNL.

After family members were unable to contact Hannah, a missing person’s report was submitted two days later.

Ryan pleaded with her to contact him a few days prior to his passing.

He said, “I miss her,” to KTLA.

The U.S. Sun saw a family statement posted on a Facebook group created in an attempt to locate Hannah.
