Who was Samantha Miller Hutchinson? Bride killed by Jamie Lee Komoroski in Folly Beach DUI incident
On her wedding night, 34-year-old Samantha Miller Hutchinson was slain by an intoxicated driver.
Following a sorrowful court appearance, the driver, Jaime Lee Komoroski, was imprisoned in December 2024.
Samantha s beautiful wedding
Before the night of Samantha’s death in April 2023, not much is known about her.
That same evening, Samantha and her husband were married in Folly Beach, South Carolina, and celebrated their marriage with a lovely party that was attended by her family and friends.
Samantha, her husband Aric Hutchinson, and two family members left in a golf cart as the event came to an end.
Suddenly, Komoroski, who was 25 at the time and traveling at 65 mph while intoxicated, struck their car.

Samantha tragically died on the spot.
The horrific catastrophe left Aric and his family with permanent damage.
Aric s life after the crash
Aric disclosed that he found it difficult to deal with the loss of Samantha.
He admitted to a Charleston judge that he hasn’t completely recovered from the terrible collision.
He remarked, “I’ve seen more psychiatrists, therapists, and doctors than I can count, and my feelings haven’t changed since that day when I learned.”
I wish I had passed away that evening. I wish I had anticipated it. To avoid you running me over, I would have leaped from the golf cart.
We were run through at 65 mph, yet we were not struck.
He also disclosed Samantha’s final remarks.
She stated she didn’t want the night to end, so I kissed her on the head, and the next thing I knew, I was in the hospital, Aric told the tribunal.
Komoroski appears in court
In December 2024, Komoroski entered a guilty plea to her crime.
She was given a 25-year prison term for driving while intoxicated, which is what killed Samantha.
In addition, the driver was given a ten-year sentence for reckless homicide and a 15-year sentence for causing Aric’s injuries.
She will serve a maximum of 25 years in prison because her sentences will run concurrently.
Komoroski apologized and showed regret for her behavior in court.
She stated: Samantha Miller died on the evening of April 22, 2023, as a result of my decision to drink and drive.
I have never made a worse choice in my life than this one.
Komoroski went on to say: A lovely wife, sister, and daughter were taken because of my bad choices.
I just want to express how deeply sorry I am.
