Williamsburg Double Shooting: NYPD Reports One Killed, One Wounded
DEBARYLIFE – The New York Police Department (NYPD) reports that a double shooting occurred in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, on Sunday night, leaving one person dead and another injured.
The gunshot happened close to the intersection of South 9th Street and Bedford Avenue at around 10:30 PM. Two men were discovered at the location by police who were responding to a 911 call.
A 25-year-old guy was among the victims, and emergency medical personnel pronounced him dead at the scene. The second victim, a 30-year-old guy, was taken to a local hospital for treatment after sustaining non-life-threatening injuries.
Witnesses said they heard several gunshots and saw a tumultuous scene as individuals sprinted for safety. One unnamed neighborhood resident described the area as “like a war zone.” “I’ve never seen anything like it in this neighborhood.”
The victims’ identities have not been made public until their relatives have been notified. Details on any possible suspects or the shooting’s motivations have not yet been released by the NYPD.
