Woman Dies, 8 Injured in Overnight Shooting Spree in Dallas
Dallas: A 21-year-old woman was among the nine victims who were shot early on Sunday morning in Dallas’ Fair Park area.
45–50 persons reportedly attended a block party on Saturday night at a local rec center, according to the police. Thereafter, a few people proceeded to a nearby Collins Avenue address close to Carter Street.
The DPD reported that around 11:10 p.m., officers went to a report of gunfire, but by the time they got there, the gunfire had stopped. The department stated that officers were still in the area.
The shooting resumed at 1:35 a.m. on Sunday, according to DPD detectives, who found that after one individual opened fire into the throng, more persons began to shoot. They were taken to nearby hospitals, seven ladies and two men.
Coriesha Bradford was named by the police as the deceased woman. According to police, the other eight victims should live.
Officers on the scene Sunday morning included DPD gang teams, and the department stated that they suspect there was gang participation. There were about one hundred evidence markers in the front yard of a house and on the street.

Chief Eddie Garcia made the following statement: “I have many questions about what happened last night that led to the death of a 21-year-old woman and eight people being injured.” “Though the initial inquiry concluded that the responding officers did not witness any illegal behavior at the time among the local population, this incident ultimately resulted in fatal outcomes.
Currently, our homicide detectives are investigating who and how was involved in this event. To find out if there was anything we might have done differently regarding the circumstances of this call, I have launched an internal investigation.
The men and women in this agency work hard every day to maintain the safety of our city. Before making any decisions, it’s critical that we compile all the information. I pledge to uphold the Dallas Police Department’s highest standards of professionalism, accountability, and openness.”
